Checklist
Before you sell
- The card is unused, or you know exactly how much is left on it.
- The card is yours. You bought it yourself or got it as a gift.
- You have the full code, and the PIN if the card has one.
- You still have the receipt, if you got one. Keep it until you are paid.
- Do not redeem the card to your Apple Account. Once redeemed, the balance is tied to that account and cannot be transferred, refunded to cash or sold.
Find the code
Where to find your Apple / iTunes gift card code
Where it is
On a physical Apple gift card or iTunes card, the code is on the back under a peel-off label or a scratch-off strip. Peel slowly from one corner so the printed code does not lift away with the label. If you received an Apple gift card by email, the code is in the email itself, usually near a button that offers to redeem it. Copy the code and do not tap the redeem button. Some cards also print a serial number in small type, which is not the redeem code.
What it looks like
An Apple gift card code is 16 characters, a mix of letters and numbers, and on most cards it starts with the letter X. Older iTunes cards may use a different format. There is no separate PIN. Copy the characters exactly, and do not include the serial number.

Balance
Checking your Apple / iTunes balance
Apple publishes a balance check on its official website for Apple gift cards, but some versions of that check need you to sign in and can redeem the card if you follow the wrong prompt. The safest reference is the amount printed on the card or shown on your receipt. If you do use Apple's official page, read every screen carefully and never choose redeem.

Do you accept old iTunes cards?
Older iTunes and App Store cards still hold value if they were never redeemed. Send the card details in the bot and it will tell you whether that card can be accepted.
Is an Apple Store gift card different from an Apple gift card?
Apple has used several card types over the years. The bot checks what you send and confirms before you agree to anything.
My Apple card label tore and some characters are missing. Can I still sell it?
If characters are missing, do not guess. Keep the card and receipt and contact Apple Support through the official Apple website for help.
Can I sell Apple Account balance I already have?
No. Once an Apple gift card is redeemed, the balance stays in that Apple Account. Only unredeemed codes can be sold.
Someone on the phone asked me to read them an Apple card code. Is that normal?
No. Apple, the IRS and other agencies never ask for payment with Apple gift cards. That is a scam. Hang up, keep the card and read our scams guide.
